Peru: Day 2 Ollyantatambo

Today was a lot of exploring the town and hiking in the mountains!

Peru: day 1 The Sacred Valley and Pisaq

We made a trip to Peru back in June. It was awesome! Josh found an amazing deal on flights, Jarrett said he could join us and off we went! The boys had a little bit of trouble adjusting to the altitude, but generally did well. This trip was amazing!!! So many wonderful things to do and see. We were totally enthralled by the whole country. Having Josh and Jarrett both speaking Spanish helped out IMMENSELY!!!

Our view of Lima as we headed from airport to our AirBnB. We spend the night there and headed out the next day for The Sacred Valley.

The Sahara

We stopped in the last town before you hit JUST SAND, and bought wraps for our heads and faces--just in case it was windy.

This is what we saw for 2 hours. I have NOOOOO idea how our driver knew where he was going or where our camp was becasue there was NOTHING until we hit our camp. Crazy.

Grandma Uschi sand boarding like a pro!

Our sunset camel ride.

Hikes up huge dunes to see the sunset.

After dinner that evening our hosts played music and we danced around the fire for a couple of hours. It was awesome!

Seriously, there was NOTHING around us.

Our camp for the night.

There goes Case!

Morning at camp.

WE made it back to Marrakesh for one more night and then headed home on a 6am flight back to Chicago. IT WAS A TRIP OF A LIFETIME!!!!
